The beauty of natural surrounding

The natural surroundings of Villafranca harbour a wide variety of splendid fauna and flora: mountains, green valleys, vineyards, rivers, springs…All this, turns Villafranca into a green belt of huge natural wealth. Very beautiful and quiet villages and hamlets can be found all around the area.

Some of its trees are remarkable examples to be taken into account: “El Campano”, that is said to be the biggest chestnut in Spain. Moreover we can come across oaks, jews, birch trees, strawberry trees, ash trees, maple trees, holly trees…and a four-hundred years old cypress in the convent of la Anunciada; the height of this cypress is 30 metres.
